Why are Background checks done?

 

Couree is dedicated to providing reliable, trustworthy service that protects our community. We conduct safety and background verifications of all of our drivers. All checks also confirm motor vehicle records.

 

Part of driver onboarding includes this background check with driver consent. A third-party company conducts the background check, Checkr, Inc. Drivers are required to provide a valid social security number. Additionally, drivers are required to provide a valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance information and asked to expressly consent to have their background checked.

What Do Couree’s Background Checks Include?

 

In order to pass the background check, drivers must have:

 

• A valid Social Security number

• An active U.S. drivers license

• Be at least 18 years old

• No pending criminal charges

• No major moving violations, such as DUIs or reckless driving, in the past five years

• No drug convictions in the past five years

• No cell phone/distracted driving violations in the past year

• No more than two accidents in the past three years

• No more than three minor moving violations in the past three years. These violations include violations such as speeding tickets, failure to obey traffic laws

 

The Couree background check does not cost anything to a driver, and credit checks are not a criteria of the background check.

 

Drivers who consent and complete the Couree background check will receive a copy of the report via email 30 days after completion.
